Titanic’s 113th

Justin Wilson Avatar

Today (April 14th-15th, 2025) marks the 113th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. At approximately 2am on the 15th, the world’s largest ocean liner of the time sank, bringing with her roughly 1,500 souls.

As normal, the community project, Titanic: Honor and Glory, is livestreaming a real-time digital recreation of the event on YouTube.

Since as far back as I can remember, I have always been a huge fan of the Titanic and its interesting, yet tragic story. I still recall when I was twelve years old, and all of the people honoring the then 100th anniversary of the tragedy. James Cameron, the director of the 1997 film Titanic, released a National Geographic documentary which attempted to answer some of the biggest questions surrounding the way the ship sank. It is hard to believe it has already been thirteen years since that period.

Although it has been well over a hundred years now, the story of the RMS Titanic still resonates with people, including me, today.
